First Place Guoli Jia Senior, BeiHang University Professional Art Design Illustrations Interwoven Greetings : Compatibility, symbiosis, harmonic days, progress . . . the United States. Greetings to your culture from ours, which embraces and embodies the Five Elements of the Chinese National Spirit – the Dragon representing the force of Health; the Phoenix that exists for the love of Beauty; the combination of Strength and Beauty, of Dragon and Phoenix, bringing into reality any desired conclusion; and the Phoenix, Beautiful as the Dragon is Healthy – together the power to achieve any goal! Not only does this crystallize the wisdom of the Chinese nation, but also the spiritual wealth of all the World’s Peoples. To the Chinese, it is a wisdom that can bring about a better, peaceful, harmonic World! Our silk banners mix traditional and modern Greetings just as does the ingenious emblem of the Olympic Games, which reflects the merging of China's traditional culture with its emerging modern society. Both will coexist in harmony! |

Second PrizeChao Sheng Ren Min University of China Xu Bei Hong School of Arts Sophomore Traditional Chinese Painting Inspiration and thoughts of my work As we all know, a step towards a strong and prosperous China is represented by the development of gigantic dragon: China will never seek hegemony and is an eternal Dove of Peace; thus, she symbolizes peace through her increasingly powerful people who wish to bring stability and prosperity to the world. From Noah's Ark, the olive branch has also become a symbol of peace; therefore, I let the olive branch give birth to the Dove of Peace with the earth itself as their vessel or ark, indicating a whole world unified through peace and development. The Peace Doves represent not only China and the United States, but also represent the common aspiration of all the peoples of the world! |

Third PrizeYang Huizi Senior, BeiHang University Professional Art Design Illustrations Inspiration and thoughts of my work My artwork centers upon the Yin and Yang symbolizing the process of change, the tears on the face from Chinese traditional philosophy demonstrating my regard for peaceful understanding. "One lifetime, two lifetimes, three lifetimes, all things on earth", with society everything is equal from this in time. Auspicious, the five-colored clouds on every side have been an important localization element, with upper weight from the proper mineral green of Dunhuang and familiar in color brown, the Silk Road’s lingering charm has just been vividly portrayed. I close with two character that employ the song’s text: "We are all together!" Yin and Yang artwork have used traditional Chinese painting to produce an impactful, distinctive water-ink effect to represent the subject of "peace" through the confluence of many Chinese elements. |
