Security & Safety

SECURITY AND SAFETY ARE OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY:

1. TRAVEL INSURANCE We provide travel insurance via the reputable U.S. based insurance company-Travelex Inc. for each The Silk Road to the Future participant. For learning the travel insurance policy coverage, please read the policy below.
2. EMERGENCY HOTLINE We provide 24/7 Emergency Hotline during the trip for our participants/relatives to contact us for any emergency matters, concerns and situations.
3. SAFETY TEAM LOC maintains a well trained Safety Team to handle emergency and safety situations, including assisting our participants in filing insurance claims while in China
4. DAILY ONLINE UPDATES We provide daily trip updates on our official website during the trip for the relatives and friends of our participants to follow their beloved on the daily basis.
5. RED CARPET FOR SAFETY We select the top international standard 4 or 5 diamond hotels, not only for comfort, but for safety and security concerns. Our staff visit each facility and location our participants will stay or visit in advance to review and enforce the LOC safety and security standards.
6. ONSITE OFFICE & ON BUS CAPTAIN LOC provides on-site office (inside the hotels) and bus captains to accomodate our participants' needs and most importantly, respond to our participants' safety and security concerns/matters by providing consistent and immediate assistance.
7. FEEDBACKS LOC collects feedback from each participant via feedback forms for the purpose of improving not only the quality of the other faces of the project but also to obtain first hand suggestions to ensure a safe environment for our participants.

* Pre-Departure Trip Cancellation and Post-Departure Trip Interruption Benefits ARE OPTIONAL BENEFITS that can be included only if elected and the appropriate premium paid. If you elect these benefits and insure an amount less than your total prepaid trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions, the maximum benefit for Pre-Departure Trip Cancellation and Post-Departure Trip Interruption is limited to amount of coverage purchased.

THIS IS A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PLAN. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ASK FOR THE TRAVEL INSURANCE CERTIFICATE WHICH FULLY DETAILS THE COVERAGES, PROVISIONS, LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS OF THE INSURANCE OFFERED AND IS AVAILABLE TO YOU, UPON REQUEST, AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO YOUR PURCHASE OF THE PLAN.

Conditions and Limitations

Certain exclusions and limitations apply and are detailed in the Travel Insurance Certificate which will be included with your travel documents and is also available to you, upon request, at any time prior to your purchase of the plan. For example, coverage does not apply to any sickness or condition that existed during the 60 days prior to the effective date of the coverage (this exclusion is waived if your premium is received within 14 days of your initial deposit/payment for your trip and you are not disabled from travel at the time you pay your premium), suicide, normal pregnancy, war or any acts of war, mental or nervous disorders. Other Covered Events, as defined, include the following events or their consequences:

1) Post-Departure Trip Interruption due to cancellation of arrangements by an airline due to strike, mechanical breakdown of the aircraft on which you are scheduled to travel or bad weather (Maximum of $100 per day/$500 total, or 2) cancellation or interruption of your trip due to: a documented traffic accident while en route to departure; jury duty; destruction of your residence by a natural disaster; a documented theft of passports or visas; a Terrorist Act which occurs in your departure city or in a city which is a scheduled destination for your Trip provided the Terrorist Act occurs within 30 days of the Scheduled Departure Date for your Trip and your premium is received within 14 days of the initial deposit/payment for your Trip. Sickness or Injury must require examination and treatment by a Physician and must commence while insurance is in force for you. This plan does not cover a loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition (of you, an Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner), event or circumstance which occurs at a time when this plan is not in effect for you.
